Step 1: Start with a square sheet of paper, and turn it so that it looks like a diamond. (The side facing you will become the color for the head and wings.)
Step 2: Diagonally fold the opposite corners together, making a crease along the full length of the paper from top to bottom.
Step 3: For this step use the image below and in Step 4 to help understand where the fold should be place. Fold each side backward (mountain fold) so that the fold creases meet at bottom corner. Please note that the bottoms sides should not touch each other. Then, turn the model over so that the back is facing you.
Step 4: Fold the side corners back (mountain fold, again) at an angle.
Step 5: Fold the top corner back (mountain fold, again) so that the fold is perpendicular to the verticle line in the center of the model. The fold should be halfway between the top point and the top of the crease from Step 3.
Step 6: Fold the model in half using the vertical crease made in Step 2. Then, rotate the model 180 degrees.
Step 7: Do an inside reverse fold on the top of the model to create the head and beak.
(The following image shows you how to do an inside reverse fold step by step.)
